New laboratory evidence suggests that Ginkgo biloba may reduce your risk of developing an ovarian disease by 65%–70%. This latest research was presented last month at an annual conference sponsored by the American Association for Cancer Research.
Gingko, a popular Chinese herb, appears to have anti-inflammatory properties that inhibit unhealthy cell growth in the ovaries. Scientists examined echinacea, St. John’s Wort, ginseng and other popular herbs, but did not find them to exhibit the same preventative effects that Gingko produced.
Health experts suggest that women add a Gingko supplement to their diets to minimize their risk. Long known for its positive effects on memory, gingko’s growing list of health benefits will help to maintain its popularity as an herbal remedy.
